Where did you grow up? Baltimore, MD, hon.
Where do you find inspiration? I find inspiration in nature, my community, and the people I work with. Nature effects hair in my favorite ways. The way light reflects in hair. The way the sun lightens it. The way the wind blows it.I love the form hair takes out “in the wild”. My friends are my muses and watching them live in their hair and seeing what works and what they need and how hair transforms through time gives me insight on how to approach hair. We have such an inspirational staff at Coz and each of them brings their own style to the table. Seeing what they do and how they do it always pushes me to try harder and be better.
What do you do besides hair? Scuba dive, canoe, travel with my amazing husband, garden and cook, workout, and enjoy my lovely New York community.
What do you love most about being a hairdresser? I love the connections I make and what I learn from my clients. I get to collaborate on their look with them and create the image they present to the world and in return I get life advice, insight and friendship I wouldn’t otherwise have. Some of my biggest life decisions have been made based on conversations I have had with my clients.
What looks are you into right now? Right now I am into deconstructed shapes that have a solid blueprint- Taking a strong shape and breaking it down…And I am always into hair color that is low maintenance but striking and beautiful. I am loving pops of unexpected blonde in rich browns.
Cut- Color- or Both? BOTH! I could never choose!
